Some
Things
Start
Again
And
Again
You have to start somewhere. Sometimes you have to start again. And again.
The key thing to remember is, you have to start somewhere.
Katie Maxwell was born and raised in a small town north of Memphis, and has lived most of her life in the Mid-South except for a six-month hiatus in London where she participated in the Intern in Britain Program offered by BUNAC (Britain Universities North American Club). After finishing her degree at Rhodes College she wanted the experience of living away from home, and London, England was far away from home.
Katie understands personally what it takes for people to succeed in the independent, entrepreneurial world. Throughout her childhood, her mother was involved in direct sales to help support the family financially. When she graduated from high school she recognized the flexibility of direct sales and became an independent representative herself, though not with the same company. During college, and her corporate career Katie continued to work her business. When her corporate position was eliminated she switched her focus to her business and never had to worry if she could cover her living expenses. While many of her friends and colleagues began to climb the corporate ladder Katie became more interested in the startup scene in Memphis. She joined a small team to conceptualize and open one of the first traditional coworking spaces in Memphis.
In 2015 Katie made the move back to a corporate role, but with a company that has entrepreneurialism at its core. The Juice Plus+ Company, once a small, direct sales company, has evolved into a highly profitable, multibillion dollar health and wellness company operating in more than 25 countries. Founded by Jay Martin and his vision to build a stable and lasting company that will help as many people as possible realize their dreams, the mission of the company has remained consistent - Inspire Healthy Living Around the World.
Katie started her career with The Juice Plus+ Company on the North American marketing team in 2015. During her first few years with the company she was involved in various projects and initiatives involving various departments throughout the organization. Her passion for The Juice Plus+ Foundation presented an opportunity to join the sales team. Katie became an integral part of the small but mighty Juice Plus+ Events team that planned and executed various events throughout the year with anywhere from 500 to 7500+ attendees across the country.
Upon leaving The Juice Plus+ Company in 2021, Katie planned to take a few months to settle into a new house before continuing her career in the corporate world. Even though she joked about being "retired" the idea of being in control of her own schedule and working hours was enticing. She started assisting a friend with Estate Sales, took on some organizational projects, and even developed a thriving side hustle by providing customized pet care. Needless to say, that short break didn't last.
Equipped with a variety of skills and experiences developed in both corporate marketing and as a leader of various community-oriented small business activities, Katie will always have a desire to create and grow in the world around her.
